Bellaire 

Despite the many offices and commercial properties situated within its city limits along West Loop 610, Bellaire is known as the "City of Homes," boasting 6300+ homes which are a mixture of post-World War II bungalows, 1960s ranch-style brick homes and a multitude of newer multi-million dollar homes on estate lots.

As of 2000, Bellaire is the 27th wealthiest location in Texas based on per capita income, with a population of 15,642. The once rural neighborhood is now a close-in community that's home to the new multi-million-dollar Bellaire Aquatic Center and Bellaire Recreation Center.

"Bellaire nightlife" is a contradiction in terms. The closest thing to nightlife here would be found at Tio Pepes Spanish Restaurant, featuring live flamenco guitar performances on Wednesday and Thursday evenings... or at Chanterelle Bistro & Wine Bar, a cozy French restaurant located in one of Bellaire's numerous strip centers.

Bellaire attracts primarily casual, more family-oriented eateries. Favorite spots include Auntie Pasto's for classic Italian cuisine and JAX Grill for reliable blue-collar American and Tex-Mex fare. One of Bellaire's most distinctive eateries is the Roadster Grill, unique in its eclectic menu that runs the gamut from savory gyros and Greek salad, to tried-and-true burgers, fries and shakes.

Praised by food critics citywide and often hailed as the best restaurant in Bellaire is the casual, yet sophisticated Lemongrass Cafe. Lemongrass Chef Fah marries the exotic, intense flavors of Asian cuisine with the robust qualities and ingredients of Western fare. Try a juicy rib eye steak marinated and grilled Korean style, or dare to experience the Curry Crab Firecrackers with a cilantro and Jalapeno dipping sauce and you'll understand why everyone's talking about Lemongrass Cafe.
